The SPICE Foundation Committee would like to welcome all our teachers and staff back to school. We hope everyone had a good summer. Once again it is time for our SPICE auction and grant applications.
The SPICE Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was formed with the purpose to raise funds for our classroom teachers. By applying for a grant, teachers are given the opportunity to obtain equipment or programs they would like to have but which may not be in the schools budget.
SPICE grants are due on February 29, 2012 at the end of the school day. A grant application can be downloaded from this web site. Please follow the instructions on the grant application. Grant recipients will be announced the night of the SPICE auction. The SPICE Foundations officers and members encourage all teachers in Locust Grove schools to apply for a grant.
There will be a Best Dessert contest; the dessert that wins the Best Dessert contest will be auctioned off to the highest bidder during the live auction. If you choose to enter a dessert in the dessert contest; the dessert will need to be at the Upper Elementary School Cafeteria by 4:30 p.m. Please include a card with your dessert with the recipe and why it is your favorite dessert. We encourage you to enter a dessert in the dessert contest or encourage a good dessert maker that you know to enter. Again this year there will be a Table Decorating Contest. Anyone wanting to decorate a table with a music theme could win $100.00 if chosen the Best Table.
The SPICE Foundation Committee is in process of gathering items to be auction. If you have something you would be willing to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Any donation with a value of $50 or more will entitle you to two complimentary tickets to the SPICE fall fund raiser. You may contact Diana Goertz at 697-9486/479-5830 or Monica Parker at 864-3868. The SPICE Foundation would like to thank every teacher who participated in last years SPICE auction, it was a great success. We are looking forward to this years auction and with everyones help; it will be great success this year.
